The Next Step
What are you doing with all of the energy you are bringing down?
A new friend that we met along our journey asked me this. So profound.
Let me say it again.
What are you doing with all of the energy you are bringing down?
We know meditation helps calm the mind, soothe relentless thoughts and move away from obsessive, destructive tendencies, amongst other things. But have you taken the time to ponder the energy that becomes available to you as you learn to master the mind?
Steve Jobs channeled his energies from Zen meditations into technological and societal innovation. My dear friend and teacher, Tommy Rosen, continues to route his energies into helping people break free from addictions, with 10,000 people listening to his online conferences. These are two of many examples of people have tapped into something profound with their meditation practice, and channeled their creativity and courage to help build something. While it is great to think big, a project does not need to be “big” to have an impact—all are building blocks into a kinder world.
Yogi Bhajan liked to remind his students that they cannot just be “yoga” teachers. With the powers of meditations, your options become infinite.
I challenge you to get excited and think about what are you doing with all of the energy you are bringing down. Yes, you could just continue using it to help yourself write smarter emails or move up in your company, but what else could you do? What greater aspirations do you see? We are not just one identity. We are infinite.
As always, happy to brainstorm and/or point you to the right people.
